Each year during the weekend before Easter, fiddle players from around Australia gather near Sydney to take part
in the Hawkesbury National Fiddle Festival, playing not just violins, but all types of string instruments and all types of music. Taking part in the festival are beginners just learning 'open strings' to the
masters such as Marcus Holden & his Fiddlers Festival, Mark Oates, Martin Lass, George Washingmachine, Andrew Clermont, to name just a few. This CD features tracks by some of the artists who attended the
very first festival. in April 2000 |
